It's very curious to observe, but subjects of conversation seems to change considerably and in proportion to age. There is like a dimunition of centers of interest towards or past forty. At least if your aquaintances have got their babies late (difficult to say when the arrival of the first baby is more and more delayed and without any correlation to social classes).
Actually, what seems boring to me is that babies and talk about babies or children are more and more determinating conversations among friends who formerly discussed about politics, theory, arts and whatever hadn't much to do with children. I'm not annoyed by children, they have a great place in my life, but do they have to invade even in their absence discussions that could be more interesting?
Fortunately there are some exceptions, but in general being parents and talking more than about babies seem to be difficult or out off topics.
